Foundation Stage (Infants)
Our three and four year old students follow the British Foundation Stage programme with an additional hour a day in Spanish. The programme focuses on 6 areas of learning:
1. Personal, social and emotional development
2. Communication, language and literacy (English and Spanish)
3. Mathematical development
4. Knowledge and understanding of the world
5. Physical development
6. Creative development
Primary
The students follow the British National Curriculum programmes for Key Stages 1 and 2 with additional studies in Spanish. The programme consists of:
1. English
2. Spanish language and culture
3. Mathematics
4. Science
5. Information and communication technology
6. Humanities
7. Art
8. Music
9. Physical Education
10. Personal, social and health education
11. French is started in Year 6
Secondary
The students in Years 7, 8 and 9 study a broad and balanced programme continuing the subjects from Primary.
In Years 10 and 11 there is a core programme of English language and literature, Spanish, French, mathematics, science, physical education and personal, social and health education. The students also choose two further subjects from art, music, business studies, history, geography and information and communication technology.
In Years 12 and 13 the school offers AS and A levels in the following subjects: English, Spanish, French, mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, art, business studies, history, geography, and information and communication technology.
A preparation for Spanish university is offered with relevant options subjects taught in Spanish. The students also have tutorial time and optional physical education.
Extra Curricular Activites
The school’s extra curricular activities are organised by the parents’ association. We have our own after school sports club and programme of music tuition by peripatetic teachers during the school day. The sports teams play in the local leagues and all have qualified trainers
