Mugendo Panda
Mugendo is a system based on ancient martial arts that aims to create a solid and effective education full of values in order to have a discipline that will be maintained both outside and inside Mugendo classes; it reinforces a series of values such as teamwork, discipline, coordination, concentration, balance and respect. The objective of "MugendoKids" is that your children learn in a fun and enriching way.
You will be able to purchase the uniform from the Mugendo teacher.
Mini Tennis
Our tennis club is in partnership with the Pineda Gavà Club. Your children will be able to develop technical, tactical and positional elements of the game in a stimulating environment. Every Friday at school, students will take part in fun tennis based games.
OBJECTIVES
- Initiation to tennis through play and abc movement skills
- Work on general hand-eye coordination skills
- Know and apply the basic strokes of tennis (forehands, backhands, volleys and serve)
- Become familiar with sport values
Robotics
IGNITE Serious Play will offer the learning of STEAM digital competences (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths). Our students will use robotics, coding, 3D printing and virtual reality as a way of expressing themselves to present innovative prototypes andservices.
The learning and development of STEAM competences is done through project-based learning with a Design Thinking methodology. The projects will focus on social and citizenship topics, creating meaningful learning which will be adapted to each age group.
Reception and Year 1 - OBJECTIVES
The students will work on small projects lasting 2-3 weeks using LEGO machines and robots to develop mechanical and computer skills. Students will improve their communication skills as a team, transmitting their best ideas and narratives through technology.
Accura Swimming
Your children will have the opportunity to learn and perfect their swimming techniques. Our students will enjoy personalised development in reduced number groups at AccuraKids.
Transportation to Accura is included. The pick-up time is at 18:00 in Accura Kids located at Carrer dels Tellinaires, 39-41 in Gavà.
Multi Sports
Students will take part in fun group activities and a different sport each week whilst focusing on the development of core skills such as agility, balance and coordination. A great start to sport at BCG!

Tennis

At the club, not far from school, your children will be able to develop technical, tactical and positional elements of the game in a stimulating environment. The club has the aim of developing players to, one day, play competetively and continue to improve.

- Work on coordination and movement skills.
- Participate in tennis competitions.
- Acquire sport values.

The mechanical skills with motorized mechanisms and computational thinking (coding) will be paired with LEGO education tools, Neuron and Scratch. Students will develop spatial reasoning and strategic creativity by working in teams. The projects will be developed from a technological, cultural and artistic point of view. Our students will be able to collaborate and work on a projectremotely with other international schools worldwide.
Accura Swimming

Football
Develop technical, tactical and positional elements of the game in a stimulating team environment where children work hard, have fun, and learn the main concepts of the game. BCG aims to develop a group of players that may represent the school later in both competitive and friendly arranged matches.
Art
The children will express their creativity in many ways during the year. From traditional to the contemporary and paint to photography.
Yoga
Your child will be able to connect with a healthy sense of body, mind and emotion while developing their flexibility, strength, co-ordination and body confidence in a non- competitive environment. They will also learn techniques to relax, concentrate, and cultivate inner fulfilment and a sense of calm. Open to all ages and abilities across the school.
My Gran Chef
Your children will learn cooking, nutrition and healthy habits. MyGranChef is an educational project that promotes the importance of cooking andeducates children to manage a healthy diet while connecting with the environment. The art and love for cooking promotes creativityand helps make smart food choices.There is a 18€ fee for the subscription to their students’ web to download the weekly recipes, the apron and Chef hat that will be giving at the beginning of the term, a guide to good eating habits for parents, and the MyGranChef civil responsibility insurance.
Year 2 to Year 6 – LITTLE CHEF OBJETIVES
- Establish first contact with the kitchen.
- Identify and play with food while learning how to use different kitchen utensils Learn good eating habits in a healthy and balanced way.
- Cooperatein the kitchen at home and prepare their first dishes with the help of parents and/or older siblings.
French
French language club is to develop and improve vocabulary, grammar and conversational French through games, music, TV and film to engage pupils.
Musical Theatre
Mrs Foreman, Ms. Fenton, and Mrs. Hallam (professional dance choreographer and talent scout for the Institute of Arts, Barcelona) will lead this club for two hours a week (full year attendance is required). Children will learn to act, sing and dance, and develop the teamwork and memorisation skills needed in order to perform a full-length musical production in the summer!

Rowing
In partnership with the Barcelona Rowing Club our students, over 11 years old, have the opportunity to row at the Canal Olimpic in Castelldefels.
Rowing is a sport where rhythm and teamwork are key, improves muscle and joint mobility, and is one of the few sports without weight that exercises all the major muscle groups. Students should be aware that full commitment is required at this club to enjoy it and improve.
Our students will be full members of the Barcelona Rowing Club with all that implies in terms of rights of use (use of equipment, participation in races and other club activities) and obligations (compliance with internal regulations).
The Federation license includes insurance and has a cost of 48€/year in the range <14-16 years and 61€/year of 16-18 years to be paid in January.
Football
Football club is for all abilities and will work on technical aspects as well as game play practices in order to improve and engage players for football matches representing the school.
Tennis
Our tennis club is in partnership with the Pineda Gavà Club. Your children will be able to develop technical, tactical and positional elements of the game in a stimulating environment. Students will take part in fun tennis based and competetive games at the club not far from school.

Yoga
The British College of Gavà offers a daily transport service to and from the school which is organised around the needs of families requesting the service. We employ a professional bus company with many years of school transportation experience. The buses used are modern and comply with safety rules concerning the transportation of children, and the route is supervised by a BCG employed monitor in order to guarantee the students are well-looked after.
Padel
We have partnered with the Pineda Gavà Club to offer this fun, social and educational sport. Your children will develop their coordination skills while strengthening their core muscles.

My Gran Chef
Throughout July, The British College of Gavà organises a thriving summer school program. We operate a dual programme with morning activities being delivered by our fully qualified British teachers. In the afternoon, qualified sports coaches and arts/crafts leaders take over.
Once a week, participants spend a morning out on the beach with a local water sports company that provides exciting opportunities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing and windsurfing as well as team-building games on the beach. The week finishes with a presentation for parents during which students show off their achievements.

Year 7 to Year 13 - OBJECTIVES
The students will develop 'maker' projects in which they will combine technological elements such as automats, sensors, actuators with consumable materials (wood, cardboard, plastic) to present innovative proposals from a social and citizenship point of view. They will also work with complex mechanical systems like LEGO education robots / Makeblock / MakeyMakey, as well as coding tools such aa Scratch and 3D design along with CoSpaces to present virtual reality projects. Our students will be able to collaborate and work on a project remotely with other international schoolsworldwide.
Business Enterprise
Your children will explore different business initiatives throughout the school to make a difference, while working with our charities or pursuing their personal interests.
